This generator is similar to the automatic standby model but is shipped with a receptacle panel pre-installed plus a propane quick connect kit. Just purchase two 20 lbs propane gas grill tanks, connect the hoses, start the unit and you have power! Since it is not permanently installed or wired you normally will not require a permit or an electrician. Later you can provide natural gas or piped propane.
The 40248 Home Generator System provides protection from power outages. Electrical power is restored in minutes with the push of a button. Assembled in the USA. Vanguard engine is made in JAPAN.

Briggs & Stratton OHV Engine
Quality engine specially designed for long-life operation on NG (natural gas) or LP (liquified propane vapor). These fuels are readily available, clean and environmentally friendly.
Heavy-gauge metal exterior with corrosion-resistant powder-coat painted sheet metal. Comes with polymer installation pad -- no need for concrete pad saves you installation time and money.
Built-in Diagnostic Center with remote
status and diagnostic panel
Alerts you to any possible problems with the generator.
Panels easily remove for service access.

Note that this generator
cannot be hard wired or plugged into most transfer switches. It has GFI
protection on all outlets and must be connected using extension cords or with
