The FLEXmax FM60 and FM80 are the latest innovation in maximum power point tracking (MPPT) charge controllers by OutBack Power.  The MPPT software algorithm is both continuous and active, increasing your power yield.  With enhanced cooling management these controllers can operate at their maximum current ratings in ambient temperatures as high as 104F (40C).  And they will automatically de-rate power output for temperatures from 40C to 60C.  Set points are fully adjustable.

The FLEXmax FM60 and FM80 can also charge a lower voltage battery bank from a higher voltage array or other dc source as long as the maximum open circuit voltage is never exceeded.  This is perfect for reducing voltage drop and wiring costs of those long runs between far-away dc power sources and your battery bank.  For example, a hydroelectric turbine can be purchased at 120Vdc output and connected to a 12, 24 or 48Vdc battery bank with this controller at the battery bank.

A built-in backlit 80 character digital meter displays the current system status and data logging performance for the last 128 days.  Integrated network communications using CAT5e/RJ45 allows remote programming and monitoring via the OutBack MATE system.

Note that the FLEXmax FM60 and FM80 are not suitable for use as diversion load controllers.
