This is HI-Power's high-voltage system suitable for connection to the grid.  It does not require the use of a battery bank.  The induction generator has no brushes to wear out and produces high voltage 3 phase ac which is suitable for transmitting over long distances.  At the other end of the transmission line or cable a voltage clamp and a rectifier converts the power to high voltage dc for connection to the grid-tie inverter.  The HV series hydroelectric turbine uses a standard Hartvigsen Turgo stainless steel 4" wheel in an anodized square aluminum housing.   (Also available with Harris bronze Pelton wheel or high flow ESD stainless Turgo by request.)  Housing is 12" square and fits into a 10.25" square opening.

All hardware is stainless steel and the standard nozzles are brass in 3/4" brass holders.  For high flow sites with nozzles of 1/2" and larger we recommend the 1-1/2" plastic holder with plastic nozzles.  These nozzles are easily cut off to the desired size by using a hack saw and finishing with sand paper on a flat surface.  As a cutting guide they are marked in millimeters.  A 3/4" or 1-1/2" NPT male connection sticks through the housing for installer provided penstock and valve connections via hoses.
