SF-100 Universal 1000-2000 Watt Safety Fuse Kit
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
General:
The Safety Fuse is designed for installation of DC to AC Power inverters up to 2000
watts. Using the proper fuse inside the fuseholder will protect the vehicle and contents from
damage caused by shorted wiring.
Required Tools:
1. Portable Torch or Soldering Iron for Soldering (Preferred Method) or Crimping Tool
or Visegrips for Crimping
2. Adjustable Wrench with Insulated handle
3. Phillips and Slotted Screwdrivers
4. Black Electrical Tape

Explanation:
The kit is designed for both current and new installations. The fuse inside the fuseholder protects your vehicle from damage caused by accidental shorting of the battery to ground. (Use 150-amp fuse for 1000-1250 watt power inverters, use 200-amp fuse for larger inverters up to 2000 watts.)
Connectors:
All connectors are made from high quality copper and covered with anti-corrosion coating. Two of the connectors are for #4 AWG wires (for 1000-1250 watts). Two of the connectors are for #2 AWG wires (for up to 2000 watts).
BEFORE STARTING INSTALLATION, TURN POWER INVERTER OFF!
THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE FOR NEGATIVE GROUND 12 VOLT ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS
(The negative terminal of the battery is connected to the chassis or engine housing)
Installation:

2. Find Location for fuseholder near the battery (s) and mount to stable surface.
3. Use Hacksaw to cut wire.
4. Strip back insulation (5/8") on ends of wires.
5. Solder (preferred) or crimp connectors on ends of wires.
6. Remove top nut and top washer on fuse posts. Use 150-amp fuse for Power Inverters
up to 1250 watts. Use 200-amp fuse for power inverters up to 2000 watts. Place fuse
on top of bottom washer on both posts. Place connector on wire from battery on post
nearest battery. Place washer on top of connector and tighten nut Place connector on
wire to power inverter on remaining post. Place washer on top of connector and tighten
nut Replace fuseholder cover and secure cover with cable ties or electrical tape.
