Solid state inverter for powering ac appliances from a 12 volt dc source such as a vehicle electrical system and/or battery. Output voltage rating 110-115 Volts at 60 Hz. Maximum continuous output power 2500 Watts. Surge capacity (peak power) output 4000 Watts for 20 seconds. This unit will power those larger appliances one at a time such as a refrigerator, freezer, microwave oven, power tool, vacuum cleaner and sump pump, as long as they are within its rating. Best used for intermittant applications such as home backup power, camping, RV or boating. Modified sine wave output. Optimum efficiency greater than 90%. No load dc input current 0.5 amps. Allowable dc input range 10 Volts to 14.5 Volts. Standard features consist of automatic thermal protection activated above 150 F, low battery voltage alarm and shutdown, reverse polarity protection, dual ac outlets and extra long 20 second surge capacity. Shutdown indicators showing over temperature or overload. Electronic bar graph meters also provided to indicate dc input voltage and dc input current allow continuous monitoring of battery condition. This inverter must be powered from a negative ground electrical system. All passenger vehicles manufactured in the U.S.A. after 1955, and in Europe and Asia after 1971 have negative ground systems and are acceptable.
