This model water cooled load bank consists of a load tank and a 32 inch outlet
hose. The tank can accomodate up to three resistor elements that are ordered
separately in sets of three. Resistor elements can be easily replaced in the field.
With different connections this can also be used as a single phase or DC load bank.
A clean water source of 7.5 gpm for each 150kW load unit (or proportionally less
flow) is required. This is usually provided using a 5/8" diameter garden hose
for single load units or a 1-1/2" fire hose with a water distribution assembly for
multiple units. A cooling tower source can also be used as long as there is no
sediment in the water and adequate flow is provided. Any number of load tanks can be
connected in parallel, limited only by the available cooling water pressure. Maximum
wire size is 4/0 with provisions for ground wire.
Order resistor elements separately. When multiple load banks will be used
in parallel a water distribution assembly can be ordered separately for the supply
connection.
