This A3/A4 auxiliary contact kit provides a "form
C" set of contacts that change state in the normal (utility) and in the
emergency (generator) switch positions. Each form C consists of a limit
switch containing 1 normally open and 1 normally closed contact tied to a
common point. Connections can be made using 3 slip-on terminals for each
form C limit switch.
Auxiliary contacts are useful for remote indication or
operation of remote circuits. A common use is to shut down a large
electrical load that cannot be powered by the standby generator. This is
perfect for wiring out to a thermostat circuit to shut down a central air
conditioner or heat pump that is too large to be powered by the
generator. Do not exceed contact ratings. Use an interposing relay
if your requirements exceed these contact ratings.
