Air Cooled Load Banks

These are resistive load banks suitable for testing generator sets and UPS systems.
Durable construction for repeated use such as in production line testing.
The lighter-weight units are also perfect for field service personnel.
Send us e-mail if you need DC load banks or larger models.

Water Cooled Load Banks

These are resistive load banks suitable for testing generator sets and UPS systems.  The
X-series load banks require a clean water source with low mineral content of 7.5 gpm
for each 150kW load unit.  Salt water and high mineral content water will alter the
resistance since elements are in electrical contact with the cooling water.  Water is
usually provided using a garden hose for single load units or a fire hose for multiple units.
A cooling tower source can also be used as long as there is no sediment in the water
and adequate flow is provided.
The N-series load banks use resistive elements that are electrically insulated from the
cooling water so water quality will not affect load values.
As compared with air cooled load banks of similar ratings, these water cooled
units are smaller in size, lighter weight and available with shorter factory lead times.
Resistor elements can easily be changed in the field for different ratings.
