When mounting the arm on the motor shaft make sure the two set screws seat tightly on the two flats of the shaft.

Adjust the chain length so that when the shutter is open the arm is approximately horizontal. When the return spring closes the shutter the arm should be approximately vertical.
The motor operator is designed to stay energized continuously to keep the shutter open.
