120Vac 60HzThis compact Live Voltage Monitor is designed to be used by homeowners, boat and RV owners to detect power fluctuations, brown outs and power outages. Unlike other monitors, this product alerts the user to low, normal and high voltage by means of three L.E.D.s and an audio alarm. The audio "wake" alarm even ensures the user's alert of a complete power loss through a lithium battery backed alarm. The alert condition also will continue until reset allowing the user to acknowledge events that occur when not present. If required, the audio can be switched off.
Rated 108-132VAC with high and low alarm settings fixed at 132V and 108V +2%.
DETAILED OPERATIONAL DESCRIPTION
The 9017 Power Guard is plugged into a wall socket and allowed to charge the internal battery for 24 hours. The slide switch positioned to "ALARM ON".
When power is lost the unit emits a series of three short beeps separated by several seconds of silence. This sound alarm sequence continues for more than 2 hours. However, after about two hours the third beep in the series begins to weaken which probably indicates that the internal battery is becoming discharged. The beep sound volume is not loud. You can easily hear it within a few feet. But if in an area with background noise it would be difficult to hear across a room.
When normal power voltage is restored the beeps will stop and the green LED will turn on. However, it will flash to indicate that there has been a prior power interruption. Pressing the reset button will silence the audible alarm and reset the flashing LED, causing it to glow steady.
If the slide switch is set to "ALARM OFF" there is no audible alarm or LED indication during a power outage. However, when normal voltage is restored the green LED will turn on in flash mode indicating a prior outage.
