Automatic Transfer Switch

The Ovation™ Series Automatic Transfer Switches, used in conjunction with a standby generator, provide a convenient way to maintain power in a home or business during a power outage. This automatic transfer switch system senses when utility power shuts off, triggers a permanently installed generator to start, and once the generator reaches a nominal output level, the household circuits are transferred to the generator. However, unlike most other switches, this product also has the option of adding load management control for up to six branch circuits. This can reduce the size and cost of the required generator.

* All models include subfeed lugs to easily support additional panels
* Adjustable generator start-up delay from 5 seconds to 60 minutes, in 15 minute increments,
to comply with certain ordinances.
* Microprocessor-controlled, open transition, circuit breaker-based switching with manual override

PowerPause™ Load Management:

* Each Ovation™ Series ATS accepts up to 3 PowerPause™ Load Management Modules
(Model LSM, sold separately) to control up to 6 x 240V circuits or 12 x 120V circuits of up to 5 amps each.
* This feature also supports Load Lockout to disconnect selected loads (like air conditioning) before transfer
to standby to avoid generator overload
PowerPause™ Relay Boxes (for loads over 5 amps):
These relay boxes are used in conjunction with the PowerPause™ Load Management modules when in-line relays are required to start/stop appliances larger than 5 amps. Available for 30 and 50 amps, with one or two relays per box.

1) The start time delay prevents nuisance generator starts during momentary utility power variations; transfer time delay allows generator set to stabilize before load is applied; retransfer delay prevents needless power interruption if return of utility power is momentary; stop delay allows gradual generator set cool down; undervoltage sensing of utility supply provides reliable starting of generator set during brownout conditions.
2) This switch is service entrance rated. This generally means that you do not need another service entrance rated disconnect between this switch and your utility meter.
