Modified Sine Wave Inverter/Chargers
These are for stand-alone application configurations E1, E3, E4, E5.
It is a good idea to buy a larger inverter than you think you need because
efficiency is highest at about half load.  If you plan to run AC motors, the extra
surge capacity will help start the motors.  A 1/2 hp motor in a washer or a pump
may require more than 2400 watts to start.  The 24 volt inverters are better at
starting motors than the 12 volt units because their DC input currents and
voltage drops are less.   For inverters without built-in battery chargers see the

which can also be used for alternative energy applications.  See our
UPS systems for automatically powering critical loads during outages.  To sell
excess power back to your utility you must use true sine wave inverters.

True Sine Wave Inverter/Chargers
Some of these inverters can be used to sell your excess electricity back to your utility
company or offset some of your consumption.  See all configurations of
type E except for E2.  If you do not need this feature, the
modified sine wave inverters may be a more economical alternative for your
application.  Keep in mind however that there are some minor drawbacks to
modified sine wave inverters as explained on our information page.
