Hydroelectric Turbine Generator
ES&D Turgo StreamEngine, 2-4 nozzles

Energy Systems and Design hydroelectric battery chargers use a cast bronze turgo runner to drive a long-life, brushless permanent magnet alternator.   A simple wiring change in the junction box allows this turbine to charge 12, 24 or 48 volt battery systems. 

These turbines come with cut-to-size nozzles that can be user-set for up to one inch, allowing a very large flow in low head situations.  They can operate on heads as low as 5 feet with a flow of 40 gpm.  For more nozzle information click here.  Please tell us your head, flow, pipe size and length when ordering.  This product made in Canada.  Additional technical information is available at the ES&D web site (click).

DC cable length and voltage drop must be evaluated carefully when laying out system.  Click here for our simple voltage drop calculator.  If the turbine will be located far from the battery bank, voltage drop and wire cost can be reduced by using the 120Vdc generator with a step-down controller (such as the FM60 or FM80) at the battery bank.
